Dr. Elizabeth Goldschmidt is a physicist at the US Army Research Laboratory in Adelphi, MD. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree in physics from Harvard University in 2006, she worked for a year at a public policy think tank in Washington, DC before going on to do a PhD at the University of Maryland. She did her graduate research at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, MD on single photon technologies and quantum memory. She obtained her PhD in 2013 and stayed at NIST for a postdoctoral fellowship in ultra-cold atomic physics. She joined the Army Research Lab in 2015 and her research group, which includes University of Maryland undergraduate and graduate students, studies experimental quantum optics and quantum information.
